「~と」彼と:with him●前置詞の使われるパターン:次のように3つのパターンで使われる。
前置詞に出会たっらどのパターンなのかを分析してみてくださいね。
①名詞+前置詞+名詞 (名詞と名詞をつなぐ働き)
例)I have some [questions] about [your product]. 製品の質問
His [attitudeto] (towards) [me] is rude. 私への態度
Nobody knew [the reason] for [the delay]. 遅れの理由
②形容詞+前置詞 (形容詞が後ろに続く前置詞を決める、形容詞のパートナー探しです)
例)Japan is [famous] for Mt.Fuji. 形容詞famousは、for を伴う
形容詞+of (心の状態を表す)
I am fond of ice cream. 私はアイスクリームが好きだ
I am proud of my son. 私は、息子を自慢に思っている
I am afraid of dogs. 私は、犬が怖い
I am scared of snakes. 私は蛇が怖い
I am sick (tired) of rain. 私は、雨にうんざりしている
sick/tiredの後ろにof がくると「病気の」「疲れた」という意味はありません。
I am aware of the danger. 私は危険に気づいている
形容詞+at(得意・不得意を表す)
I am good at math.
He is bad at English.
形容詞+in
He is successful in business. 彼はビジネスで成功している
形容詞+from
This milk is free from fat. このミルクは、脂肪ゼロです
freeは、日本語だといろいろな意味に訳されますが、基本的には「ない」という意味です。
例)He is free this afternoon. 彼は今日の午後暇だ(することがない)
形容詞+for
I am grateful for his help. 私は、彼の手助けに感謝いている
He is responsible for the accident. 彼は、その事故に対して責任がある
形容詞+about(感情系)
He is angry about the decision. 彼はその決定に怒っている
He is nervous about the interview. 彼はインタビューが心配だ
③動詞+ 前置詞(それぞれの動詞には相性の良い前置詞があります。動詞の婚活です。)典型的な例を挙げておきます。
例)I am waitingfor a bus. waitと相性の良い前置詞はforです。onではありません。
形容詞+for(目的・理由)
He prepared for the project. 彼はそのプロジェクトの準備をした
We are hoping for peace. 私たちは平和を望んでいる
The hotel apologized for poor service. ホテルは、サービスが行き届かなかったことを詫びた
動詞+ to(方向・~に対して)
I often travel to Canada on business . 私はしばしばカナダに出張する
He responded to my email. 彼は私のメールに返信した
動詞 + about(~について)
He complained about the noise. 彼は騒音の不平を言った
He forgot about the meeting. 彼は、ミーティングを忘れていた
動詞 + with(人々や事柄に関連)
I agree with his opinion. 私は彼の意見に賛成だ
I compete with my sister. 私は、姉と争っている
動詞 + of(~に関して)
My boss approved of my proposal. 上司は私の提案を認めた
動詞 +in(中に加わる・専門分野)
Many people participated in the event. 多くの人たちがそのイベントに参加した
This restaurant specializes in French food. そのレストランは、フランス料理が専門だ
動詞 +at(動作の対象)
He laughed at me. 彼は、私のことを笑った
He shouted at me. 彼は私に向かって叫んだ
