２月２５日（土）岡山大学の２次試験があり解答速報を作成しました。ここでは、第４問の自由英作文を紹介します。
お題は、以下の英語でかかれています。 Imagine you could change or create any national law or common rule. Which law or rule would you change or create and why? Explain the law or rule, them the reason why you want to change or create it. Write your answer in about 10 lines in English. 要するに、「現行の法律や規則を変えるとすれば、どの規則を改正したいかとその理由を述べよ。」です。
問題を見た時、「法律の改正？」大きなテーマだなとギョギョ！とするかもしれないけれども自由英作文の練習によくあるテーマ「教育の無償化」「高校生の制服」などについて書いていけばオーケーです。私は、国会でも議論されている「教育の無償化」について書きました。高校の教科書で使用される単語、熟語や構文を使ってみました。参考にしてみてくださいね。
I would like to change the education system because education plays an important role in the success of a person as well as a society.
I strongly believe that everyone must have equal opportunity to get access to education, and higher education should be provided free of charge.
As a result, university students can concentrate on their studies and complete their degrees without financial support from their parents or student loans.
In fact, a large number of university students are not able to continue their higher education.
This is because some parents can’t afford expensive tuition fees or because some students have no choice but to take on part-time jobs to cover the cost.
In the long run, making education free will have a positive impact on individuals and society.
It will allow students to gain knowledge and skills and help society prosper.
